Harper's Bazaar in Vietnam featured a number of stunning photos of Mackenzie Hamilton in some very complex ornate gowns. As weddings are becoming more personalized there is no reason why any bride needs to stick to a traditional wedding, yet alone be restricted to any sort of fashion restrictions. Here we see lots of texture, from feathers to a complex floral jacket. In additional photos, she is wearing a coat that looks to be hand stitched with detailed cording. Looking at the bottom of the gown it looks like it was made of layers of tulle, and has a lot of lace appliques sewn onto the tulle. Ebay also sells embroidered lace trim by the yard. Europe had been trading with the middle east in the 12th and 13th centuries which brought in new textiles such as brocade. If you do consider making your own bridesmaids gowns, or wedding gown for that matter, brocade fabric and raw silks can really be terrific rich fabrics which you can build upon with beading and fine gathering.
